This book brought on a bit of trouble or trouble surrounded it. Tiny Letter banned my newsletter. That felt like that must be on me but I was mystified as to what I’d done to cause that. You know, pretty tame, the covers and descriptions that Amazon limits you to. For instance, semi-famously, Amazon will allow you to show a cover model baring the top of her breasts all the way down to juuuuuust above the nipple. However… if you show the side of her breast with no nipple… into the dungeon you go and your book is banned forever!
As it turns out, a company called MailChimp owns almost all the online newsletter services and they are extremely repressed or religious or some such thing. So they will ban you for promoting what even Amazon allows. Even though you are only sending it to people who signed up for it! No complaint needed, they just sort through and if they see anything that arouses them or is not male on female then it must be banned! Forever! No warning! No redemption! It is sort of funny. I found lots of people writing about it on the net. It turns out it is hard to find a newsletter not owned by them but I managed to.
Then came the publishing of “Bailey’s Orgasmic Catfight.” Bam. Banned by Amazon. A 3rd service reported it to me. Amazon, when asked, said it was not banned. At first. Then I was later told what to do to get it unbanned. They will never tell you exacly but, if you ask real nice, they will hint at a general area. I kid you not. It was… the title! I looked at it. I had another book with catfight in the title. Not banned. It couldn’t be Bailey. So, I took out “orgasmic.” That did it. No longer banned. Somewhat amusingly (but not on purpose) I neglected to change the title on the cover and “Orgasmic” is still right there if you click on the book. But, no longer banned.
